Our team is growing, and we are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join us in delivering excellence to our clients.
Job Summary
- As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting both internal and client-side audits. You will also be responsible for supervising junior accounting staff, maintaining compliance with tax regulations, and contributing to financial strategy development.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS standards.
- Oversee general ledger activities and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Manage tax compliance and filings (GCT, PAYE, Corporate Income Tax).
- Conduct financial analysis and assist in budget preparation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for clients and the company.
- Support external and internal audits, providing documentation as needed.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff and interns.
- Collaborate with management to improve financial procedures and controls.
- Provide accounting support for special projects and system implementations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification (preferred).
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in public practice or financial consulting.
- Strong knowledge of Jamaican tax laws and IFRS.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Peachtree, or other accounting software.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
